The Four Seasons Medical Qigong practice consists of four parts–the Spring, Summer & Fall, and the Year-round Triple Warmer routines. These routines are designed to harmonize the flow of Qi and positively affect one’s spirit, mind, and organs in relation to the changes intrinsic in each season. Combining movement, organ-specific sounds, breathing, and self-massage, the Four Seasons Medical Qigong routines for Summer and Fall benefit the Heart and the Lungs respectively.
Upon completion of this webinar students will have:
1. A clear understanding of the general theory of how seasonal changes affect the mind, body, specific organs, and energy (Qi) flow;
2. Specific understanding of which Yin and sensory organs and meridians are affected in Summer and Fall by seasonal changes;
3. Experiential self-awareness of the benefits of the Four Seasons Medical Qigong through practice of the specific movement patterns and sequence for the Summer/Fall set;
4. Specific modifications of certain patterns in the Summer/Fall set that enhance the energetic benefits to the Yin organ and body in general.
This class is experiential. Participants will practice each of the postures and sequences several times. An important benefit is the practical application of this Qigong series to promote an embodied experience of equanimity for the acupuncturist. It is also a potential adjunctive tool to share with those being treated.
