CoVid 19 has presented unique challenges for the safe practice of acupuncture in community settings. In addition to already existant requirements for safe clinical field practice, including clean needle technique, professional clinical protocols, environmental concerns, and working safely on a service team, CoVid-safe clinics require particular safety practices: Physical distancing, proper ventilation of venue, outdoor set up, masking of patients and practitioners, temperature checks and symptom screening, safe patient/practitioner choreography when setting up and conducting clinics. This course outlines the extra safety concerns and techniques for safe CoVid-era community mobile clinics to ensure safety of patients and practitioners.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
- Ability to identify all specific and universal practices required for CoVid-safe mobile clinics: masking, physical distancing in the clinic, maximizing proper ventilation, hand washing, temperature and symptom checks, preventing physical contact between patients.
- Knowing the specific roles/tasks of all team members when setting up and providing CoVid safe clinical services.
- Ability to create a safe clinical space for patients including how patients will enter, sit, and exit clinic, as well as instructions for patients.
- Ability to assist patients with self-ear seeding for stress relief.
